    PrimeSource Building Products has an immediate opening for a Sales Manager in our Columbia, SC Distribution Center.


    In this role, you will drive all sales KPI’s in addition to supporting 3 inside sales and 4 outside sales representatives in a territory that covers the state of South Carolina, the coast line of Georgia to the state of Florida and a small portion of North Carolina.  Additionally, the Sales Manager will be empowered to coach and develop a diverse and collaborative team to strategically outperform market growth.



    • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to meet or exceed corporate goals.
    • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals.
    • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
    • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program.
    • Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.
    • Advises dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques.
    • Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.
    • Travels with outside sales personnel to assist in developing new business as well as relationships with customers and to improve sales performance effectiveness.
    • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.
    • Prepares and performs weekly, monthly and annual employee reviews.
    • Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
    • Represents PrimeSource Building Products at trade association meetings or events to promote product.
    • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
    • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
    • Coordinates between sales department and other sales related units. Keep the Distribution Center informed of local market and competitive conditions.
    • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
    • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
    • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and /or deficits and areas of proposed client base expansion.
    • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
    • Creates distribution center specific promotional offerings.
    • Communicates distribution center inventory positions, both performing and under-performing.
    • Creates, presents and maintains independent rebate programs.
    • Uncovers new product opportunities and provides team with the market research on the product.


    • Proven track record in outside sales
    • Travel up to 80% within designated territory
    • Attend trade associated meetings
    • Sales or leadership experience in the building products industry or “like industries”
    • Sales experience in a dealer/distributor environment
    • Experience merchandising
    • Strong verbal and written communications
    • Strong customer service skills
