PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building supply products is seeking reliable, hard working Talent and Development Manager for our corporate office located in Irving, Texas.


Designs, implements, and measures the learning and development for the Company; in technical and interpersonal skills for all levels in the organization.  Projects and manages budgets, administers the Company’s talent management platform, and manages the company-wide compliance program


The Talent and Development Manager position also leads the selection of vendors, tracks employee capabilities and progress, and evaluates training and development initiatives.


The Talent and Development Manager is responsible for determining the methods of delivery for knowledge and skill transformation.  The Talent and Development Manager delivers learning via live/recorded webinars and live sessions


Responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed:

  • Understands the Company business strategy and develops learning and organizational development interventions to facilitate process and cultural change.
  • Designs and implements highly effective, results -driven training and development strategies
  • Develops metrics to assess the effectiveness of learning and development programs
  • Enhances organizational performance with learning and development activities
  • Strategically aligns learning and development programs with the organization’s objectives and employees’ personal goals and growth
  • Functions as an internal coach to assist leaders in developmental growth.
  • Develops learning programs in conjunction with business leaders for selection and delivery of training and development resources.
  • Manages the Company’s LMS (Cornerstone on Demand) and reports to the organization progress and skill gaps.
  • Works with functional leaders to develop career path training and competencies.
  • Analyzes training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
  • Conducts or determines the delivery method to assure the Company has leadership development, technical, ethics and product training.
  • Plans, develops, and conducts learning and development sessions where live sessions or OD intervention is needed.
  • Confers with management and conducts surveys to identify training needs based on projected business processes, changes, and other forces.
  • Develops testing and evaluation procedures. Leads the process to ensure, revise, and update training manuals and protocols as necessary.
  • Develops training material and conducts training for all levels of the organization based on subject matter expertise.
  • Develops, implements, and completes numerous programs, projects, and activities to ensure employees have needed competencies.
  • Compiles data and analyzes past and current training requirements to prepare budgets and justify funds as requested/required.
  • Aligns employee training goals and department goals with Company goals.
  • Maintains training records and documents
  • Manages the required ethics and compliance training programs, and provides follow-up with employees and managers as needed.
  • Coordinates training with outside sources, such as technical and professional schools.
  • Assists departments in coordinating training and learning opportunities.
  • Assists with design and administration of training processes for new employees (Orientation and Onboarding).
  • Prepares training budget for Company including by department or function. Reports on budget conformance to VP HR as well as the senior managers.




  • Bachelor’s degree with preference in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management or Adult learning and education; 7 to 10+ years experience with technical-related and leadership development training within a corporate, plant or operational facility. Experience in building and leading corporate training programs.

  • Organizational Development degree highly desirable.



  • Demonstrated experience with eLearning, instructional design that incorporate adult learning principles to engage learners and create change.



  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent skills in presentation, facilitation, and teaching in a group environment. 


  • Be knowledgeable of diverse learning methods and training approaches.


  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to groups of employees, speak interpersonally with individuals, report to management and meet with vendors.


Computer Skills:


  • Proficient use of computers, including Learning Systems, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. 


Certifications & Licenses:

  • CPLP certification desired or eligibility to obtain CPLP credentials.
  • Membership in OD or training organization a plus.
