PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced, reliable, and hard working Financial and Business Analyst to join the team. Supply Chain Analytics Preferred, This position will be based out of the corporate office located in Irving, Texas.


Reporting to the Manager, Forecasting and Business Analytics this role will have SIOP demand planning responsibility for all products and major sales channels. This role will also be responsible for other advanced analytics related to SIOP.


This position will be responsible following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary:


  • Develops an unconstrained forecast driven by statistics, market intelligence, sales programs, and product life cycle.
  • Collaborates with SIOP, Executive Leadership, Product Management, Regional and Local Sales Teams to ensure that all demand plans are in alignment from a top level perspective to a more detailed customer level.
  • Assists in generating major assumptions package of economic and market indicators that help guide the forecasting and strategic planning process.
  • Subject matter expert for forecasting systems and related analytical tools.
  • Analyzes POS and channel inventory data and analytics.
  • Coordinates closely with National Accounts, Major Accounts, PS Direct, and other customer planning teams to incorporate customer buying plans into sales forecast.
  • Delivers the confirmed unconstrained nit forecast at the appropriate level to the supply planning and purchasing team.
  • Works closely with the supply planning and purchasing teams to understand supply issues and future product availability impacting the sales forecast.
  • Helps development and generation of SIOP presentation decks for executive level meetings.
  • Assists in the development SIOP scorecards and visualizations.
  • Supports analysis and tools development for planning and execution teams
  • Supports SIOP team to develop and generate executive level reporting for SIOP meetings, Annual Operating Plan, Annual Strategic Plan, and complex ad hoc analysis.
  • Partners and finance teams to dollarize key SIOP metrics and forecasts for unconstrained sales, constrained sales, and gross margin, inventory, purchasing, and cash
  • Support for SIOP systems configuration, implementations, and issues
  • Works closely with the forecasting, supply planning, and purchasing teams to understand and analyze major SIOP issues and action plans
  • Work closely with the business intelligence team in the development and maintenance of the data warehouse and analytical reporting tools.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Professional certifications, such as from APICS or IBF, or advanced degree would be preferred.


Experience: Ideal candidates will be individuals of considerable influencing and sophisticated leadership skills whose previous experience includes:


• 3 (+) years performing in an analyst position with experience in demand planning, inventory management, supply chain, and customer service.
• Familiarity with private label fasteners, building supplies, MRO materials, and hardware and/or hand tools preferred.
• Demonstrated experience using sophisticated Forecasting, Planning, and MRP/ERP system (SAP ECC and SAP APO experience ideal)
• Expertise in the development and use of inventory effectiveness analytics.
• APICS or IBF certification ideal
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to independently identify and resolve problems or take advantage of opportunities.


Computer Skills:


To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of:

  • SQL
  • Alteryx or advance data analytics tools
  • Tableau, Power BI, or other visualization tools
  • Strong proficient Microsoft Office skills.

  • SAP APO preferred

  • SAP ECC preferred

  • SAP BOBJ preferred
