    PrimeSource Building Products Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building material products, has an immediate opportunity for a Field Product Specialist / Wire & Fence in our Los Angeles, CA distribution center to service the Los Angeles, Stockton CA and Fresno CA area. 


    The Wire and Fence Product Specialist is responsible for driving the sales performance of the wire and fence product line within their geographic territory.  This position sells the company's products and services using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services that meet their needs, resulting in revenue generation. In addition, the Specialist provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning, and technical development of products and services.  Also will help with inventory planning with distribution centers in assigned territory.  Will also assist in product knowledge training for sales people in region.  


    Job Description and responsibilities to include

    • Collaborates the development and implementation of sales plans to achieve corporate goals
    • Develop sales forecasting and set performance goals accordingly
    • Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product
    • Deliver sales presentations to key clients
    • Meet with key clients, maintaining relationships to aid in negotiations and closing deals
    • Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
    • Extensive ground travel within territory, 70% – 85%
    • Assist in the formulation and the delivery of sales training materials and efforts
    • Utilization of CRM to assist with the selling process 
    • Assist assigned Distribution Centers with inventory management for product group.
    • Assist assigned Distribution Center staff with product training for product group.
    • Lead sales activities to maximize revenues, margin targets, market share, and overall corporate objectives
    • Leads and / or participates in complex client contract negotiations that drive sales
    • Create positive atmosphere and morale across region; employees feel incentivized and motivated
    • Proven ability to develop strong client relationships in diverse locations and cultures
    • Customer service driven with the ability to nurture long term relationships
    • Strong sales leader with solid business acumen
    • Ability to use a CRM for data, reporting, and forecasting
    • Implement and execute immediate strategies for the sales function that are consistent with the company’s strategic plans
    • Develop a culture of creativity in approach to business development
    • Lead fast paced, customer centric sales employees
    • Work with District Sales Manager and Field Specialists to develop and achieve revenue and overhead budgets
    • Performs other duties as required



    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preferred in Business Management, Administration or Sales Management, and one plus years of experience/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.




    • Experience in the Fencing industry is HIGHLY PREFERRED, also as an Outside Sales Rep selling building materials to large regional Lumberyards, Concrete supply houses, Roofing Supply houses, Dry Wall supply houses, large regional Home Builders, Construction Contractors, and large regional Home Centers, is considered as well.
    • One or more years of experience as an Outside Sales Rep, driving in a car to make 6+ in-person sales meetings on site at customers every day is HIGHLY PREFERRED. Inside sales experience of related products, selling into similar customers will be considered as well.
    • Experience using a Sales Tracking Software/CRM on a daily basis when making sales calls is greatly preferred.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of building materials industry
    • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations
