    Regional Inventory Planner (2018-12041) - Irving, TX

    The Regional Inventory Planner is responsible for managing the deployment of finished goods to various distribution centers. The Analyst will translate the consensus demand plan into an inventory deployment plan, collaborating with the Planning team to ensure that inventory is managed to constraints and targets that are aligned with the business strategy.


    • Analyst will ensure optimum inventory levels to maximize sales and margins and to achieve targeted levels in support of overall product availability and company profitability
    • Works closely with purchasing, supply planning, demand planning & logistics to identify and resolve inventory and product availability issues
    • Reviews and analyze DC performance/inventory levels; recommend changes to forecasts; past performance to identify opportunities and create corrective action for improving inventory management performance
    • Utilizes SAP /APO/ MRP system along with analytical reporting to achieve optimal regional and DC forecast accuracy and inventory levels
    • Creates & maintains stock transfers / transports & associated deliveries; Ensures that quantity & delivery requirements are met
    • Identifies, resolves & recommends solutions to problems regarding availability & timeliness of shipments & receipts
    • Responsible for core product deployment and allocation decisions
    • Assists with DC inventory, deployment, and allocation parameters, taking into account constraints and inputs such as orders quantity, lead time, order cycle, safety stock, space, distribution size and frequency
    • Collaborates with Purchasing and Production on suggested and approved order quantities for finished goods
    • Partners with the Regions, DCs, Forecasting, and Purchasing to proactively plan for market specific requirements
    • Manages solutions to exceptions that occur in the deployment process
    • Manages inventory in support of major events i.e. product launch, promotions, new locations, relocations
    • Coordinates with Forecasting, Purchasing, and Production to project and execute quick turn-around on critical issues
    • Gathers, evaluate, and implement inputs from cross-functional teams impacting inventory fulfillment
    • Identifies and address future inventory issues to reduce impact to the business, based on time-phased plan
    • Builds and develop relationships with Planning, Transportation, Manufacturing, and Customer Care teams to ensure that Customer Service objectives are achieved and maintained
    • Responsiveness & timely communication/elevation to critical cross-functional business partners and management when service and cost are at risk
    • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement on a daily basis
    • Takes the initiative to resolve deployment issues without supervision



    Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Decision Sciences, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics, or related field.

    Advanced degree and/or professional certification would be preferred.




    4 (+) years performing in a management position with experience in demand planning, inventory management, supply chain, and customer service.

    Demonstrated experience using sophisticated Forecasting, Planning, and MRP/ERP system (SAP ECC and SAP APO experience ideal)

    Expertise in the development and use of inventory effectiveness analytics.

    APICS or IBF certification ideal

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
