    Marketing Product Manager (Construction Products, Bolts, screws, etc.)-Irving, Texas 

     

    The Marketing Product Manager will support the vision and initiatives of the Product Management Team for assigned category(ies).  The main focus of this role is to plan, organize, and control assigned product line(s) from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives. 

     

    This role will focus on Concrete Accessories, Anchor Bolts & GR Barriers' categories.

     

    Travel could be anywhere from  20% to 50%.

     

    Must have Product Marketing and/or Product Management experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Overall responsibility for Product Lines (Product P&L point of view); go-to-market strategy, product strategy, margin $, margin %, CTS, establishing inventory levels and plans, etc.
    • Product Managers will focus primarily on their products and to be strategic and forward looking, to balance distribution with product growth, work with marketing on brand strategy (owning product line brand strategy), and to drive growth from existing and new products with the sales teams
    • Work with marketing to develop collateral, PR and promotion, warranties, sales approaches (product launch plan).  Marketing owns process and PM owns content. Develop under guidelines from Marketing, Legal, Finance, other for compliance, regulation, brand Control.
    • Development of specifications with connections to the production sources to ensure integrity of product specs and quality.
    • Determine product evolution (life cycle) including developments of product, packaging, labels, pallet, wire rod, etc., with sourcing support.
    • Product Manager sets standards for quality expectations; Sourcing conducts quality oversight and claim investigation.
    • Product Manager works with Pricing to provide guidance based on market dynamics, cost moves and inventory levels.
    • Owns product training curriculum, development, and deployment; works across HR, Marketing, etc., through to the field Sales organization.
    • Responsible for driving sales through Commercial, BMG and Field Sales Management.
    • Supplier ownership: PM owns third party and Sourcing owns proprietary brands.
    • Performs other duties as requested.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, preferably an MBA; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Five or more years related Product Marketing and/or Product Management experience
    • Experience marketing products and/or product management within a Distribution environment (especially if selling into companies like Lowe's, Home Depot, Regional Lumber Yards, national Homebuilders, etc.)
    • Very strong in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), and SAP Knowledge is a plus.
