Distribution Center Manager, Detroit, MI (2018-11680)
PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation's largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, seeks an experienced Distribution Center Manager to grow our business and ensure profitability in the Detroit area. There are 7 dedicated routes and 5 bays at this facility.
You will be responsible for managing two buildings that are about 140K sq. feet combined. This facility has a staggered first shift that starts at 7AM and ends at 5PM, NO WEEKENDS! You are responsible for Sales, Operations and the P/L.
The person in this position will manage 3 to 4 direct reports who supervise a total of 5-35 employees in the Warehouse Operations, Sales, Credit and Administration. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Responsible for the successful implementation of all short and long range goals for the Distribution Center assigned. Specifically pertaining to goals regarding; finance, operations, sales and human resources.
Some responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the building materials industry is a major plus.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge and understanding of CRM systems, Company Reporting Software, Internet Software, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software. SAP is a plus.
