  • Overview

    PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., has an immediate opening for a flexible, hardworking Warehouse Supervisor in our Nashville, TN location. 

     

    In this role, the Warehouse Supervisor will report to the Operations Manager.  You will assist with the oversight of a 126,000 square foot facility creating a positive work environment for 19 warehouse employees.  The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee warehouse orders, product inventory, process, workflow and delivery.  Moreover, you will be responsible for the quality of work, workload balance and employee training in an urgent and ever changing environment. 

    Responsibilities

    • Maintains and enforces all company procedures, policies and practices.  
    • Creates daily plans to meet warehouse goals and decrease overtime.
    • Enforces high standards of warehouse safety, cleanliness and organization.
    • Manages product inventory, routing of product and product delivery.
    • Scans product orders in addition to pulling, sending and restocking product.
    • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. 
    • Issues written and oral instructions. 
    • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to all policies and procedures. 
    • Plans layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. 
    • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. 
    • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels. 
    • Schedules work for special and periodic inventories. 
    • Responsible for assisting in periodic cycle counting of inventory. 
    • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. 
    • Trains new warehouse employees in order selection and loading procedures.
    • Coach and mentor warehouse employees.
    • Assist in the recruitment of warehouse personnel.
    • Uncovers opportunities for continuous improvement in process and workflow.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a 2 year college degree OR a minimum of 2 years of warehouse supervisory experience
    • A minimum of 2 years of forklift and “order picking” experience
    • Basic knowledge of warehouse logistics
    • Required to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. 
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word  
    • SAP experience is preferred.  
    • Building materials or “like industry” experience preferred.
