    Rebate Accountant (Irving, TX) - 2018-11662 


    PrimeSource Building Products, Inc., one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of building supply products, has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Rebate Accountant in our Irving, Texas corporate office. 


    Rebate Accountant is responsible for setting up and maintaining all customer rebate programs.


    • SAP, preferred

    This position has primary ownership of maintaining strong relationships with clients and ensuring that all contract payments and associated reporting are completed on time and follow established policies and procedures. Function as a rebate data subject matter expert to ensure proper data validation, verification of contract compliance, rebate processing, and payment analysis to protect PrimeSource from revenue leakage.


    Input contracts into Vistex based on terms and conditions written in the agreements as well as making sure contractual obligations are accurately captured and updated.


    Work with external customers and internal stakeholders to resolve disputes in a timely manner.


    Review and validate customer submissions within an appropriate timeframe to ensure data is accurate to allow PrimeSource to properly process and pay on time.

    Track all submissions and payments through systems (SharePoint, Winshuttle, Vistex) to proactively build in lead time to execute rebate payments.

    Summarizes data and provides information to managers as requested for successful contract negotiations, renewals, and issue resolutions.

    Analyze payment variances and trends, to find outliers and research root causes for potential upstream errors.

    Support the development and maintenance of policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
    Process all payments to customers for rebate programs.

    Special rebate projects as required by sales and/or management including yearend reconciliations and reporting.

    Participate in internal and external audits, when needed, in order to demonstrate compliance with policies, laws, and regulations.

    Effectively interact with various key internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Customers, Contract/Account managers, Strategy and Analytics, FP&A, A/P, 3rd party consultants, etc.)

    Responsible for analyzing and processing supplier rebates on a monthly/quarterly basis including report validations and analysis, tracking and monitoring contract compliance.

    Proven ability to prioritize and manage rebate payment processing across channels and customers with limited supervision to meet deadlines and exercise sound judgements in a fast-paced environment.

    Participate and/or contribute to special projects as needed.

    Remain flexible and adaptive to changing business requirements and processes.

    Prepare and distribute ad hoc sales and management reports.

















    3+ years of related experience in manufacturing, distribution and/or consumer products company.

    • Bachelor’s or higher degree
    • Data management skills and ability to analyze information to properly communicate relevant data to both internal and external stakeholders is required.
    • Demonstrate decision making skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team structure, as well as ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues by self with minimum guidance is required.
    • Microsoft Excel experience a must
    • SAP/Vistex and/or BI experience a plus

    We are looking for self-starters with strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
